Does LPU offer any part-time PhDs?

LPU offers both full-time and part-time PhD courses. LPU is one of the best universities to do a Ph.D. to enhance your knowledge in the research area. LPU provides a very healthy environment for research and development in all areas of the discipline. Let me share something about the Ph.D. programme at LPU. Eligibility: a) Masters degree with 55% aggregate marks in a relevant discipline or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST and interview; b) Other conditions as prescribed in the Guidelines for Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes (5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently able candidates). LPU is composed of the best faculty members from IIMs, IITs, and the other best B schools. The majority of faculty members have PhDs or are pursuing the same. After that, you have to qualify for the LPUNEST exam if you have not qualified for a national-level test such as GATE, UGC NET, CSIR, GPAT, etc. The entrance will have 70% weightage in selection. After that, you have to appear for an interview, qualify for the same, and have 30% weightage for the final selection. You may also avail of scholarships on the basis of the LPUNEST, or National Level Test. There is a special scholarship for female students to pursue a full-time or part-time Ph.D. at LPU. The faculty is extensively working on the research, and the students are also helping them in this regard. The faculty members are burning the midnight oil to meet the requirements of the curriculum as well as those of the students. One of the most interesting things is that very recently LPU has proposed an app through which the students could communicate their grievances, discussions, or other material that could also be uploaded by the professors. I believe this is the best platform where the students could, at any point in time, discuss anything with their faculty members. This would also lead to a better understanding between both levels. Research papers, book chapters, and patents are protagonists in the lives of professors, so this could also reduce the gap between professors and students. LPU has also collaborated with foreign faculty members, so the students are also getting the opportunity to interact with them.

Lovely Professional University is conducting a National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) for PhD aspirants. Students studying in Post-Graduation can apply for LPUNEST (PhD). Since its inception in 2009, more than 50,000 students are appearing in this exam (LPUNEST) every year. Lovely Professional University Provides both part-time and full-time PhD degree to its full-time employee. Part-time PhD is offered to full-time employees with a concession in their fees It depends on staff or faculty member either they want to pursue a Ph.D degree in Part-time or full-time mode.

Dear Devansshu, Yes, LPU offers a part-time Ph.D. As per my opinion, a part-time Ph.D. is best for working professionals, LPU also takes care of their students, especially in the case of a part-time Ph.D. such as they manage their work-study balance. Moreover, you will get flexible course work there. Let me share about the Ph.D. course work then I will share about eligibilty. The highlight of the programme is the Flexi-Course Work option specially designed to accommodate professionals wherein a student can choose the best-suited option to complete the course work. Option 1 Classes on weekends (Saturday & Sunday only) Option 2 4 days course work every month (Preferably every second week: Thu-Sun) Note: LPU is not offering this option of coursework to agriculture students. Both Full Time & Part-time Ph.D. programs are available in LPU. In Case of Ph.D. Part-Time programme, applicants are required to submit a NOC (No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of admission. Other than Engineering disciplines, Students who have done their Masters in Distance Mode, are eligible for the Ph.D. programme. The duration of the Ph.D. programme will be a minimum of 3 Years & a Maximum of 6 Years (2 Years extra relaxation is also there for the female students). LPU offers flexible course work in three different options and the tentative schedule is mentioned below: Option I Duration - One semester - August to November 2021 - Saturdays 03:00 P. M. - 05:00 P. M. Sundays 09:00 A. M. - 04:00 P. M. Option II Duration - 4 days* every month (*preferably every second week (Thursday-Sunday) September to December 2021- 09:00 A. M. - 06:00 P. M. (daily) Option III Duration - 15 days - November to December 2021 - 09:00 A. M. - 06:00 P. M. (daily) For Full-Time Ph.D. students : After presenting a State-Of-the-Art (SOTA) seminar, there is a fair chance for the students to pursue teaching assistantship in LPU only. Though the selection completely depends upon the selection committee & requirements. There are huge scholarship opportunities for the Ph.D. students 1) Upto 90% for Full Time and 70% for Part-Time based on LPU NEST cut off 2) Scholarship of up to 90% of the Programme fee is offered in Ph.D. programs based on GATE/ GPAT/ SPM/ JRF/ NET (LS)/ affiliations and/ or research outcomes. For example, candidates from Centrally Funded Research Labs/ Industry Professionals/ Teaching Fraternity, etc. Are considered for various Scholarship.
