Does LPU offer any scholarship to orphan students?

Yes LPU offers the scholarship for orphan students in various programmes. This scholarship is for those students whose both parents are dead, or he/she is an abandoned child. The applicant is not legally adopted by any individual or couple or group. The benefits students can avail under this scholarship is Full Programme fee waiver and Examination fee waiver. Limited seas are offered under this scholarship.

As per my experience, the major scholarship that one could get is on the basis of LPU NEST is the National Entrance and Scholarship Test for admission in various programs in Lovely Professional University. This test forms the basis of eligibility and scholarship for most of the programs and for some of the programme's test is applicable only for a scholarship. LPU NEST Test centers are now in 28 states, 9 Union Territories and also 200 major cities across the country but due to the rise in the daily cases of Covid-19 in different parts of the country, many state governments have put various restrictions to curb the spread of the virus. Considering the scenario of restricted movement and keeping the focus on the safety of the candidates, LPU has extended the option of the Online Remotely Proctored LPU NEST exam from home. The remotely proctored exam will be monitored live through various Artificial Intelligence tools and by the invigilators. I am an alumni of LPU. I did my B.Tech CSE in 2019. LPU gives a great exposure to students like live projects, Internationally benchmarked curriculum, well-equipped labs, and resources, etc. When I joined LPU I got 60 percent of scholarship every semester on the basis of my +2 marks. The university believes that Money should not be a barrier in education so it provides all the best possible ways to give scholarships. In LPU you can get scholarships in every course from Diplomas to Ph.D. students avail scholarship on the basis of different parameters as per their performance in Percentage in previous or previous to the previous qualification, on the basis on performance or rank in a national level test or exam, achievements in sports, cultural or co-curricular activities, social or national bravery award, defense or CAPF personnel or dependents, orphans or person with a special disability. Hi Sahiba, in a bid to owe the social responsibility towards the needy, the LPU offers a range of scholarships to the needy. You do not have to apply for scholarship every time you pay the fee. What you get at the time of admission, continues till the course is over. However, the criteria is different for those who have sought admission through sports quota, board toppers and performing arts. If you are a board topper and someone from sports category and extra curricular performance category, you will have to either maintain a CGPA or keep performing in sports or extra curricular activities as the case may be. Otherwise if you have got scholarship through LPU NEST then you are not bound to maintain your academic or sports performance. There are other scholarships too the university offers. The university gives scholarship on the basis of a first come first serve basis to 10 applicants. The candidate having benchmark disability of more than 70% and/or Locomotor disability caused by spinal cord injury can avail the benefit of full programme fee waiver. However, the LPU committee scrutinises the case. LPU offers exclusive Scholarship schemes for Tibetan Students studying in CTA (Central Tibetan Administration) Schools and Students studying in different schools managed by Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan where on the basis of test conducted in schools of the concerned organisation and/or recommendation of the concerned authority of the organisation, certain students may be offered full tuition fee waiver.

Scholarship is an award of financial aid for a student to further their education at a private elementary or secondary school, or a private or public post-secondary college, university, or other academic institution. LPU provides a scholarship of upto 6 lac per student. Lovely Professional University conducts its own test LPU NEST (National Entrance & Scholarship Test). This test forms the basis of eligibility and scholarship for most of the programmes and for some of the programmes test is applicable only for scholarship. The amount of scholarship depends on the fee of the programme, date of admission and performance of the student in LPU NEST. The basic eligibility requirement for admissions to any B.Tech programme is: Candidates must have passed Class 10+2 exam from a recognised board with Physics Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects. They must also have secured a minimum aggregate marks of 60% in the above subjects combined. LPU provides scholarships to Orphan Applicants:- Scholarship for Person with Certain Disability Scholarship Brackets: For each category mentioned above, three brackets of Scholarship (Bracket 1, 2 and 3) are defined. Each bracket represents specific criteria (for example scores in qualifying exam) which an applicant has to reach for him/her to fall in that particular bracket. The criteria in each bracket decreases as it proceeds and so does the scholarships. So, the students meeting the requirement of Bracket- 1 gets the highest Scholarship and those in Bracket - 2 or 3 gets relatively lesser scholarship. Scholarship Phases: The amount of Scholarship also depends on the Phase in which the candidate takes Admission in the University. Admissions in LPU is done in different Phases, which are bifurcations of the Admission time period. Phase I starts as early as January and continues till the end of April. The subsequent phases (Phase II, III, IV) are conducted only if the seats in the concerned Programme remain vacant. The amount of Scholarship reduces with each passing phase.

Hi, With a view to facilitate access to higher education to orphans, LPU offers a financial aid. Benefits under the scheme: Full Programme fee waiver Examination fee waiver. The applicant is required to submit following documents: Form-1: Application Form for Orphan Financial Aid Scheme 2021 Death Certificate of both the parents Income declaration form (Guardian/ Self-if employed) as per university perform. (Annexure-II: Income Declaration). Letter of recommendation from a government approved orphanage, where the applicant is currently residing. Affidavit from executive magistrate; document in case applicant is not living in government approved orphanage (Annexure-1: Affidavit from applicant for financial aid to orphans) Note: In case of missing parent (father or mother or both), a copy of police complaint for the same or relevant document is to be submitted. Where child is abandoned and/or death Certificate (s) of parents are not available, the candidate needs to submit a letter of recommendation from government approved orphanage where he/she is currently living or an affidavit from executive magistrate as mentioned above. As per my research, LPU offers various scholarships. Even fee structure depends upon the caliber of the student.
