Does Merchant Navy Officers get salary during their holidays?

There are two types of jobs in Merchant Navy. Those who join shipping companies as permanent employees they get salary during holidays. Contract merchant navy employees only are paid for contract period and may not have payment during the break period. By the way, contract salaries are much higher in comparison to regular permanent employees.
