Does my friend have any chance of getting in IIMs, FMS, IITs or NITIE?

My friend got 61.26 percentile in CAT. He belongs to ST category. VA-26.94, DILR 62.56, QA-85.1

    You do not have any chance of getting into an IIM, as you do not meet the minimum percentile required for VA.

    All these colleges will look into your sectional percentile along with the overall percentile. By considering your overall percentile I can say that you got a fair chance to get into some of the IIM's but your sectional percentile in VA is definitely going to affect that chance. As far as I know all these colleges requires a minimum of 50% in sectionals.
