There is a good scope of Nutrition and Dietetics in India. You can work Dietitian in hospitals as well as teaching can be pursued as career in various educational institutes. I am afraid I am not aware of Nirmala Niketan College of Home Science. However, being a faculty of LPU I can definitely tell you about LPU B.Sc. Nutritions and Dietetics program. It is a three-year program that produces graduates with strong basic concepts of nutrition and diet planning which help in crafting skillful and hospitality industry-ready nutrition experts for addressing the health challenges. Eligibility is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English Physics Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST. LPU offers B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics will help you in Constructing a strong basic foundation in concepts of nutrition and diet plan, thus crafting skillful and be a notion ready nutritional experts for addressing the health challenges. If you have an inborn interest in cooking and exploring various cuisines from different countries, nutrition and dietetics is one subject that will help you explore how to design controlled diets. Based on the body mass index, you can design your own food charts that would summarize the number of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins which must be consumed every day. Visits to Aanganwadis and NGOs creating awareness about nutrition among the masses are an important part of the curriculum. I have no idea of Nirmala Niketan College of Home Science but being alumni of Lovely Professional University I know that this programme is being offered by LPU. As much as I know about Nutrition and dietitian is a very good course which is being efficiently conducted by LPU. Students were exposed to the Community to know about the extension of education and community nutrition. They were also engaged in hospital internship as a dietitian to learn about the patients counseling techniques and report analysis. Students were also taken to food kiosk and kitchens of food courts to learn about foodservice management. They were also involved in new product development and its analysis pertaining to nutrition, shelf life, and cost analysis. Emphasis is given on case studies and inter-personal based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real-life scenarios. The college provides placement drives facility. These drives help in encouraging and build confidence. Some students are even placed in food industries, and food services, and these placement drives indulge the students with spirits. Most of the students choose higher study or research field but the students who want placements, and even if they are focusing a little bit, they can get the placements from LPU. Companies like Nestle, Hindustan Unilever, and Amul visit our college every year and offered a good salary package. Recently one of our senior who was an average student but had no backlogs got placed in Cipla with a salary of a 4LPA.
