Does NPTEL offer certificates even in free courses?

    No, NPTEL does not offer certificates for free courses.

    While the course content itself is completely free to access and learn from, obtaining a verified certificate requires passing a proctored exam. There's a nominal fee of Rs. 1000/- for this exam.   

    So, while you can learn for free, you'll need to pay a fee to get a formal certification.
