Whatever engineering course you choose, in the first semester you will be studying physics, chemistry and mathematics as they are very basic for any engineering graduate. From the second semester, you will be studying your domain means if you have opted for CSE then from second semester you will be

In majority of engineering colleges syllabus includes mandatory subjects such as physics, chemistry and maths in first two semesters of engineering for all branches. From 3rd semester onwards branch specialist subjects are taught.

There is no exam on whose basis MNCs like Google hire. If you miss campus interview, you can try for these companies after gaining few years of experience.
