Yes this is allowed . In fact I would suggest you to take up an internship it will help you to build up your resume College can't stop you from participating in other activities. However it may affect your attendance. This may lead to fewer marks in your internals. If you want to take up a job or a

my college is not allowing me for internship because If I work there then I wont be allowed to sit in my end semester exams as my attendance wont be 75%
