LPU curates two programs for lateral entry : 1) B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) [Lateral Entry] 3 years. (6 Semesters) 2) Diploma (engineering. ). Mechanical engineering. (ME) [Lateral Entry] 2 years. (4 Semesters) The B.Tech programme is designed as a skill enable programme, the students actually learn by doing and progress from basics to higher order skills like installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of machines. Diploma graduates can start entrepreneurial ventures or can pursue higher studies. Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 50% aggregate marks in ITI (in Technical field) 1 year/ 2 years Certificate course after 10th or 2 years Diploma from SLIET or 10+2 Vocational (in Technical field) or 10+2 (Non-Medical) or equivalent from any recognised Board/ Council.
