Very high entrance scores will always attract eyes, but it isnt always the case. The brighest student might not get high marks in exams. If a person scores well and do not perform to the expected level of the institute in the GD/PI he/she is generally not selected. So it depends upon your performance at the D day and your past academic record including extra- curricular activities.
