Recently a friend of mine commented that a good teacher shall not show his 'back' while writing on the black board. How is it possible? Any idea ? Of course I know its possible if teachers use other visual media such as projectors and power point presentations.

Remember, some teachers can make even the most boring material seem interesting and alternately, some teachers can make interesting materials boring.

Make eye contact: While teaching the students, try to build up eye contact with them as it makes easy for the teacher to know about the student’s reactions, their interest towards the topic and whether they are attentive in the class. Ask some question after certain interval of time as this will make them learn the lesson with full concentration.Ask students to teach: You can use this technique for making your teaching effective. In this technique, ask student at certain time to explain about the topic you have taught earlier as this will develop the student’s personality. We all had numerous teachers in our educational life in which very few make place in our heart. There are various qualities in teacher that inspire children to work harder than they work normally. Teaching is the only profession where achievement of a teacher depends on the way student works. There have been some exceptionally good teachers who have made worst student the finest learner. A student can properly understand the subject only if proper methods and effective teaching strategies are adopted. A teacher can properly use the teaching method only if he is fully dedicated towards the profession. Teachers should be very good as they are r... view more

Top 6 keys to be a successful teacher are- sense of humor, positive attitude, high expectations, consistency,
fairness and flexibility. And to be an effective teacher one needs to imbibe all the above 6 along with the right aptitude.

Talking from personal experience, the teacher of my daughter (in first class at present) does not even get time to see if the answers are written correctly or not. She taught the concept of 'a' and 'an' and my daughter wrote am in front of every word. But she checked it all right.

When we talk about individual attention, we must remember how many students can a single teacher attend to individually. With 40 students in class, it is really difficult to finish the coursework and still be able to access strengths and weaknesses of each student individually. To devote extra time is impossible. How many schools do we have in India where a teacher is just responsible for 10 students at a time?

There is a good degree of difference between efficiency and effectiveness. All efficient teachers may not be effective. Time has come to think about the effectiveness of a teacher

Very true statement. One roof teaching lacks many points and what you've mentioned is called and INTERACTIVE teaching. Unless and until you won't ask the students for the output, you won't get it. Offering hurdles actually measures the learning capacity of the student.

its very true. I agree with the statement completely. We dont push over upper limits until we have challenges ahead of us.Challenges tend to challenge our ability and to prove it we do it and thereby we gain lot more than just class-room teaching.it's completely in hands of a teacher on to motivate and bring up students(not few but all!!).Teachers should work with dedication not on a motive to earn money.
