Entrance test to IIT or NIT for Diploma Candidates

Hi, I will be completing diploma next year 2016 in mechanical subject, i wanna do my engineering in IIT or NIT which exam should i take, if I am taking JEE does the syllabus remains same for 10+2 students and diploma students? Please help me, i wanna start preparing for exams.

You have done diploma in mechanical subject whereas in JEE questions are from maths , physics, chemistry.same is the case for NIT which takes admission from AIEEE.
