Environment and Ayurveda .....

If we are to protect our plants, trees and forests, should we promote Ayurvedic System of Medicine when there is heavy reliance on medicinal properties of plants and trees? Won't it mount to deforestation? What do you think?

Yes. in ayurveda all components of natural things play a vital role. and we should protect them.

Ayurveda uses mostly herbs, spices. It uses products from the tress like fruits, leaves. Even if it uses bark/ roots of the tress. It uses in small quantities. It does not harm the environment

Since Ayurveda is beneficial to man kind there is nothing wrong in it. To say once again what you posted would be unwise! But blind cutting of trees affect life, that should not be allowed.
