Executive MBA and international relations

I have done my BA in Journalism, and I have 5 years of experience as a political reporter. Now if i do a Executive MBA, will it be possible for me to do a Phd on issues on politics and international relations. I want to do Phd on politics and international relations in South Asia. Please advice me.
