The term Ph.D means Doctor of Philosophy. It is the research work u perform for 3 years.

It is Doctor of Philosophy. Its a postgraduate academic degree. It is also known as a Doctorate of philosophy.

for take admission in Ph.D. you have to give entrance test for any particular university if your NET or GATE qualify or have Mphil degree then there is no need to give entrance test , you only have to give interview
