For becoming a satellite engineer, which engineering branch should I opt for?

Firstly study some form of engineering or science, particularly with the following subjects:
Telecommunications
Electronics
Physics
Mathematics
You will probably want to be more engineering than computing, but of course computers and networking are heavily utilised. Fundamentally you should have aptitude for computing but I don't think any satellite communications companies will be focused on software engineers, practical hands on hardware is mostly what I dealt with.
