it is not neceassary u just need to be hardworking as well god at reasoning ans maths just a great practice can make you prepare to crack the examination.

No, it is not compulsory to take any coaching class to appear for MAT. All the MBA entrance exams basically cover quantitative aptitude, logical and analytical reasoning, english language and general knowledge. You can purchase books on the concerned subject and study at home.
