NCERT are the best books to begin UPSC civil service exam preparation and for this you should starting reading NCERT books from 6th to 12th standard for all relevant subjects.

You should pick up class 6th- class 12th NCERT books of Geography, Civics, Politics, History, Social Science, Economics and Environmental Science.
