GATE preparation or Job

I am in B.Tech final year with 82% marks . Please guide Will It be a better option to drop a year for Gate preparation or to get a job? If I unsuccessful in it Will a drop year a hurdle to get a better job?

First, you will have to decide, what is your long term goal? If you are seeking career in education sector then M.Tech. followed by Ph.D. is required. If you are looking for PSU jobs then GATE score card is mandatory. If you see yourself in industry then GATE or M.Tech is not required. In any case
