The salary component is compulsory. Perks come additionally. They can't be given without Salary. They may save us some tax. But, Salary alone decides further career.

This is a rather difficult question to answer. Both have their advantages and disadvantages and also depend on which stage of life you are. Job satisfaction depends on lot of things, salary and perks are just one of the many. When you are just starting your career you don't care so much about the money but do care more about perks and flexibility of the company. as you advance to middle management as well as in life you need more and more cash in hand. However beyond a point no amount of money will satisfy you as much as the joy of being respected for your work and talent. So salary or perks can never be a this or that option.
