Why is it necessary to join AICTE approved MCA/MBA institutes ?

AICTE does not come into picture in distance education. If the course is recognised by Distance Education Council, it's enough.

I am working full-time in IT & intend to pursue BSc Comp Sc/BCA/BSc IT & these are offered by numerous Universities through distance education. 1. BSc (Comp Sc and IT) through Institute of Distance Education of Mumbai University 2. IGNOU/Sikkim Manipal University/Madurai Kamaraj University/Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth/ICFAI University/Alagappa University/Periyar University/Bharathiar University/Annamali University. Now my dilemma is to what/which University affiliated course should I take up to make a rewarding career in IT? I have also come across people that mentioned that IGNOU is one of the oldest University (IGNOU is quite famous) but sometimes it creates problems in sending yur Marksheets and so on and that Sikkim Manipal University is upcoming University but doesn't hold much value in IT job market hence I want to be sure that whichever course & University I choose,on completion, the degree should be recognized by all of the Companies & IT industry and hold value/credit

IGNOU MCA IS ONLY A RECOGNISED AICTE PROGRAM IN WHOLE DISTNACE MODE ARENA,BUT IT IS HARD TO COMPLETE CA FROM IGNOU. SIKKIM MANIPAL IS NOT AICTE RECOGNIZED. IGNOU DONT NEED TO BE DEC APPROVED SINCE DEC IS ANOTHER NAME OF IGNOU.

the objective of AICTE is to have a proper planned and well coordinated technical education system throughout the country. It aims at the regulation and proper maintenance of norms and standards in the technical education system. All programmes of study in the distance mode require the approval of the DEC. To seek admission for MCA/MBA you will have to check whether the University has the approval of Distance Education Council (DEC). Sikkim Manipal University is recognized by Ministry of Human Resource Development - Government of India and University Grants Commission under section 2(f) and the distance learning programmes are approved by DEC.
