What is the credibility, honourability & worthiness of Sikkim Manipal University and its degrees/diplomas in job market ?

Hi, The distance education council of India has granted recognition and endorsement to all distance education programs offered under the aegis of SMU (Sikkim Manipal University). This recognition covers all the SMU distance education programs including Graduate, Post Graduate, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma and Certificate programs. SMU currently offers over 40 Distance Education courses across 10 disciplines and has over 100,000 students. Students successfully completing the programs are eligible for Central Government jobs. The courses offered by SMU are designed to enable students to gain not only knowledge but skills that make them employable in a competitive global environment. SMU is recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development - Government of India and University Grants Commission under section 2(f). SMU's Degrees/ Diplomas/Certificates are recognized by all members of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Symbiosis Pune also have distance learning (MCA) option. I recommend this in comparison to Ignou or Sikkam Manipal.

well it is better if you done your graduation from goverment university like. Annamalyai, IGNOU, DU, kukukshetra University.

Thanks for the reply, I now would like to know the credibility,honourability & worthiness of Sikkim Manipal University & its degrees/diplomas in IT job market and MNCs & whether SMU's degree/diploma certificates are valid 4 purusing higher education from any Government University ? Additionally there was a report in media recently that AICTE had asked SMU/Alagappa Uni study centres (in Mumbai) to stop conducting technical courses since they were not authorized.any idea about this ? Also, in the end, frankly should I opt for some other University's course instead of SMU ? Please help !!!

Sikkim Manipal is a private university but it is approved by UGC, DEC. It has same value as other university but quality of education in sikkim manipal I don't consider as high quality in distance l;earning IGNOU, University of Madras are good in quality

Distance Education is a viable option for acquiring a Degree with an aim to pursue higher education. However, it surely ranks low in comparison to a regular degree in the job market.

Well I am doing MBA from SMU 1st semister and according to me its one of the good university as compared to other private universities. After competing MBA, i got promotion & my salary is increased 40 %. And it cost me just Rs. 35000 all together for all till i got the certification from the Institute.
