What is the value of MBA from Indian Institute of Commerce and Trade? What are the career prospects attached with HR and Finance?

Hi, IICT (iict.in), is an autonomous institute established in the year 1997 by Sapt Rishi Society for Social & Educational Development. SCDL (scdl.net) emphasizes on a constantly evolving curriculum which is at par with the full time educational programs. Course structure and placement wise both the institutes are reputed. But to get real feedback we would recommend you to talk to the alumni and current students of the institute. You can also get the previous year placement records and other details from the respective institute. We recommend that you choose based on your interests and talents. HR has a very good scope as almost all corporate offices and MNCs have a full fledged HR department. One could be employed with any industry in the manufacturing, services or software sector managing HR issues specific to that industry. Some of the recruiters are HLL, Pepsi, Nestle, Ranbaxy Laboratories, Dabur India, Hewitt Associates, Mercer, Ernst & Young and Price WaterHouse. HR Professionals also often work as independent trainers and consultants. Prospects for Finance have always been good as it is a core and critical function, even small firms would employ professional finance people for regular accounting and financial management. Dear Kishore, The institue is neither a Government institute nor it seems to have been recognised by the AICTE for such courses that it offers. The institute's prospectus merely makes a mention about its being a member of FIEO. But it has not clarified any where what the FIEO means. In fact FIEO is the abbreviation of Federation of Indian Exports Organisation, which does not have any concern with educational activities rather is meant for the guidace of exporters. It seems the institute is involved only in import and export business and has opened an educational shop to hoodwink the innocent students. The courses may not be recognised for the purpose of employment as the institute does not seem to have any recognition from the AICTE, as I could not find any such mention anywhere either in its prospects or at its website. The institute itself has admitted in a brief mention "It does not come under the purview of aicte/ugc." If it does not come within the purview of the AICTE/UGC, who recognised its courses and what is their value. So, better make proper enquiries from the administration of the institute before taking admission.

Hi Kishor IICT is a decent option. I would personally recommend MBA Finance. You have many job options and options to grow fast in Finance.
