what is the difference between part time MBA and Distance Learning MBA.? Plz tell me the name of institutes those provide the MBA part time

Hi Dimple, Both Part-time and Distance Learning MBA Programmes are undertaken by working professionals who can't spare two years for a regular two-year full-time MBA or afford the fee for these programmes, which is comparatively pretty high. Working professionals with these constraints along with family commitments opt for either Part-time MBA OR Distance Learning Programmes. However, Part-time MBA Programmes require more efforts and involvement from the candidate. Usually, the candidate is required to attend classes on institute premises twice or thrice a week or on week-ends. There is regular face-to-face interaction with the faculty, and since the programme structure is much like the regular two-year programme, the duration for such a course is usually three years. It's as beneficial as a regular two-year course, and would come in handy if you wish to switch/start a career in management. Some GOOD OPTIONS for Three-Year Part-time MBA Programmes offered are: - 1. Post Graduate Programme in Business Management for Working Managers (WMP) - IIM Lucknow - NOIDA Campus 2. Executive Management Programme (EMP) - MDI, Gurgaon 3. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM-PT) for Working Executives - XIM, Bhubaneswar 4. MBA in International Business - IIFT Delhi 5. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Part-Time) - IMT Ghaziabad Distance Learning, on the other hand, is totally done through correspondence with the concerned institute, and more easier to accommodate with your regular working hours. The fee is considerably less than regular Two-Year Programmes, even less than that of Part-time Programmes. The duration of course is usually two years. It is not as beneficial as a Two-Year Programme or Three-Year Part-time Programme, and would not come handy if you wish to carve a career in management. The part time MBA program is ideally suited for working executives who do not have the time to attend the full time MBA program. This gives working students an opportunity to enhance their educational qualification and professional knowledge. Part time MBA programs are generally for three years and the classes are conducted in the evenings. In most cases, there is no placement facility because this course caters to employed students. A two-year work experience is a pre-requisite for most part time MBA courses. Part time MBA programs have the same specialization opportunities as other MBA program variants like the full-time course but some offer only a small number of concentrated study courses and emphasize the core curriculum. On the other hand the distance MBa course has no connection between the  student and the university. the student does all the work sitting in a distant location. There is no student teacher interaction face to face. The course material is delivered to the student, who studies on his own and keeps submitting tests to the university.  A part time MBA program will have better employability prospects, acceptance and career prospects as compared to a distance course.

Its basically trhe difference between a classroom study and no classroom exoperience except a few contact/doubt clearance sessions and the like at your convenient timings. Distance Education offers more flexibility , learn at your convenience arrangement assisted by low fee structures and learning moducles supplied.
