    Hi, the Indian army has a wonderful alternative for all those who aspire to serve for a few years. It is called short service commission (ssc). It gives you the option of joining the Indian army, and serving as a commissioned officer for 14 years i.e. For an initial period of 10 yrs, extendable by 4 yrs. Once you have completed 10 yrs of service, you are allowed to opt for permanent commission. Alternatively, you can also ask for release from service on completion of 5th year of service. With a short service commission, you will have the best of both worlds. Even as it gives you the privileges and benefits of a full-fledged commission,
