To become a Game Designer, you must get a good knowledge of 3D software as well as preproduction. Usually in Games the environment is created in 3DSMax and Character animations in Maya, Only the models are made with less polygons and more textures. . So choose a program that teaches you these software. It would not matter whether the programme is called game design programme or not. Hi, Students who choose to enroll in a degree program for Computer Gaming can focus their studies on game programming, game design or game art and animation. A degree is usually necessary to break into the field of computer gaming and graduates can seek career opportunities as programmers, designers, writers, audio support and production personnel. A degree in Computer Gaming does not restrict graduates to careers in video gaming. With training in multimedia, art, and programming, graduates can also seek successful careers designing simulation software and educational materials in education, military and corporations. Hi, it is not clear whether you want to be a game tester or a game programmer.  In case of game tester you don't need any course. Onl passion for playing and a general intelligence level. However in this domain there is no career growth as such. This option is goodfor 10th or 10+2 students. However for becoming a game programmer, you will have to either go for a course like BE/B.Tech or BCA/MCA or Bsc.(Computer Science)/MSc.(CS). For this you need to have mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level. Alongwith it you also need to do a course in animation and vfx, which you may do from any of the institutes like Arena multimedia or MAAC. You may even explore BSc. in animatiom from Manipal University or BITS Ranchi offered at its Jaipur and Noida campus.Studying in India will be a much better option than studying in china as most of the gaming and animation work is offloaded to Indian corporates.We would recommend to pursue your bachelor degree here in gaminng and animation and then go for higher stuides to US.Besides we are into career counselling and worklife development, we cannot get you admission anywhere.
