How to start a FM station in a small town?
I want to start an FM station in my home town. There is no radio station in my place and the population is more than 2 lakhs. What are the procedures to get permission from the govt.? From where we have to start the formalities? Please respond as soon as possible. Thnks in advance.

Hi thank you very much for the reply.so u r saying i can start the work directly without any permissions right?i did my engineering in communications and im aware of those tramsmissions and receptions.but do i need to get permission from ny where for the frequency i use besides for radio station?if

Hi Revanthkumar,
Firstly I would say that in order to start your own radio station you might need to get an approval from the ministry of entertainment. Then starting a new station will require a lot of investment as radio is one of the top mode of entertainment / music, specially in India.
