Additional requirements: All students in the Bachelor of Nursing course are required to undergo a Police Record Check prior to undertaking clinical experience in the community. All students are also required to present an immunisation history. Universities offering the course: Flinders University, Adelaide, University of Canberra - Canberra, University of Technology Sydney, Griffith University, Brisbane and Gold Coast, Queensland, James Cook University, Queensland, Monash University, Melbourne, University of Newcastle, University of Tasmania, Hobart | Launceston. Graduates are eligible for registration with the Nurses Board of South Australia as a Registered General Nurse. The program also is recognised interstate. As well as traditional roles in hospitals, nurses are employed by a variety of agencies, including community health centres, aged care centres, community nursing services, local councils, industry and rural and remote settings. New graduates usually are employed in an acute care hospital setting and many go on to specialise in other areas such as mental health, midwifery, paediatrics and palliative care. Hope this helps.
