Hello Aman this is Nikhlesh, There are quite a few Indian students who study medicine in Russia. There is time for the next session to start and therefore in the time being you need to study the sites of the various colleges in Russia. You have rightly asked about the drawbacks of studying in Russia. Let me tell you a few of those. The biggest issue is the language issue. It is advertised that the medium of education is English and the Co-ordinators will also tell you the same. You have rightly asked about the drawbacks of studying in Russia. Let me tell you a few of those. The biggest issue is the language issue. It is advertised that the medium of education is English and the Co-ordinators will also tell you the same. But the important thing to understand is that the class will also consists of Russian students (more than 50%) and they will ask their queries only in their language. Obviously the Lecturer would reply to their queries in Russian. He will not translate every query in English again. So the Indian students would be left high & dry and will not be able to grasp the knowledge which usually comes more through questions & answers. Then again there can be no strict regulation that no teaching would be in any language apart from Russian. If you are unlucky to find an Instructor (medical is more of a practical education, so Instructors are as important as Professors) who is weak in English there, then you might face a tough time. You will also have to give an exam of MCI to make yourself eligible to practice in India (for making that Russian degree equivalent to MMBS of India) . Now having said this you must also think of getting the same medical education in Manila Phillipines. Things are better there in most of the aspects.
