Which one is the best among MS or M.Tech, both at IITs? Will the placements for MS also be alike to those of M.Tech??????????????

    Hi, In India M.Tech is given more value over MS. If you are aiming for a job abroad and settling down there you could go in for a MS degree. Both the degree’s are specialist in nature and makes one a subject matter expert. If you are looking in for job in your core sector you can opt for M.Tech. M.Tech degree is of two years duration. However, if you are interested in research oriented field you can go in for MS. MS programmes will take 2 to 3 years to complete.     I feel both will be similar and have same impact on placements. You can prefer MTech if you are planning a professor job in Engineering Colleges. You can plan MS or ME or MTech if you are planning Industry jobs. Universities abroad usually offer MS Degree and they consider MTech from India equivalent to their MS.
