What are the eligibility criteria to be a Police officer?

YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR BEING A POLICE MAN AFTER ENGINEERING.ITS STRANGE.! BUT NOT AT A PROBLEM. START PREPARING FROM MANORAMA A CLASSICAL YEAR BOOK. U HAVE TO COLLECT AND PREPARE FOR LAST 10 YEARS MANORAMA. GIVE A FULL TIME PREPARATION FOR IT AND U WILL DEFINITELY GET SUCCEDED. THERE IS ALSO AN INSTITUTION KNOWN AS RAU'S INSTITUTION IN DELHI FROM WHERE U CAN GET THE MATERIALS SINCE THEY OFFER A CORRESPONDENCE COURSES ALSO. SO START PREPARING FOR IT AND STUDY ATLEAST 15 HOURS DAILY. NEVER LOOSE UR ENTHUSIASM FOR AS U TOLD ITS UR PASSION. AFTER A YEARS STUDY GIVE UPSC EXAMS AND THEN U WILL COME OUT WITH FLYING COLOURS. Hi, for a career in the IPS, you need to take the Civil Services exam conducted by the UPSC for which graduation is the&amp;nbsp;minimum eligibility criteria.&amp;nbsp;IPS recruits undergo a very tough training course at Sardar&amp;nbsp;Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. They&amp;nbsp;are trained on how to play a&amp;nbsp;leadership role in the police&amp;nbsp;administration of a subdivision, district, range and state headquarters. During the training, they study the internal and external environment in which the police force functions;&amp;nbsp;analyse problems encountered on ground through experience sharing; evolve strategies and individual action plans to tackle them; and identify knowledge and skills needed for implementation of an action plan. On&amp;nbsp;successful completion of training, they are assigned to various states and Union Territories. The first posting of an IPS officer is that of Assistant Superintendent of Police or&amp;nbsp;Sub-divisional Police Officer.&amp;nbsp;He goes on to become Additional Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Police, Deputy Inspector-General of Police&amp;nbsp;(DIG), Additional IGP, IGP and&amp;nbsp;finally, the DGP. The IPS officers also go on deputation to&amp;nbsp;the Centre from time to time&amp;nbsp;and hold responsible positions&amp;nbsp;in the Special Protection Group (SPG), and paramilitary forces. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) recruits personnel&amp;nbsp;of the rank of Sub-Inspectors. The basic qualification for&amp;nbsp;taking the selection test (written exam and interview) is graduation plus certain standard&amp;nbsp;physical requirements.
