What is the difference between animation and visual effects?
What is the difference between animation (CGI) and Visual Effects (VFX). I see a number of institutes offering courses in both. Which one should i pick, and which one has a wider scope in the future?

VFX is comparitively a more repetitive job when compared to animation. It relates to creating effects and helping to create effects. However a lot of mundane jobs also become part of VFX like wire removal etc.

CGI - COMPUTER GENERATED IMAGERY ( it may be any thing like static image, animated, using software for 3dmodeling , texture i.e. image creating software , 3d or 2d animation etc). here u need much artistic & basic study of art

in animation you will b tought things like how to make animation movie ie modeling,texturing, lighting, rigging etc. and in vfx it is like visual effects,so you will b tought that only. both of them have wide scope in the future. select one accordng to your interests.
