What is the basic difference between a B.Tech and B.E. degree

Hi, B.E and B.tech some what stand similar yet different. Similarity comes from the point that both courses are degree programs; B.tech previously was introduced in India by IITs only and later was accepted by other institutes as well. as per my knowledge b.tech is offered by only technical universities like J.N.T.U.whereas b.e is bachelor of engineering which will be offered by many universities like O.U etc.i suggest b.tech has more adv than b.e

see,if u hav a b.tech. degree from india,its better than BE.btech degree is provided by only some selected institutes like iits,nits,cfis,deemed universities,some high state colleges etc
