what is the main difference between Flipflops and latches?? somebody please answer....

Dear Varun,
Latch is just a unit, that is, a one bit memory storage element and a flip-flop is an assembly of more than one latches and the bit for the flip-flop will be equal to 2^n.

Latches are level triggered but flip flops are edge triggered, be it positive or negative edge triggered.. Are you aware that dual edge triggered flip flops exist, the flip flop which triggers on both the edges of the clock signal?
