A value used to indicate the resistance of a motor fuel to knock. Octane numbers are based on a scale on which isooctane is 100 (minimal knock) and heptane is 0 (bad knock). Also Known As: Octane Rating

It is a measure of the ignition quality of gas (gasoline or petrol). If I remember my +2, I came to conclusion that octane number is the measurement of the antiknock properties of gases or in simpler terms measurement of ignition quality of gas!!! But at the same time I would like to tell you a thing that this is a Career Query Portal try to use it for the same...
