    MBA in Health care definitely holds a lot of scope in India and the same is in the developing level hence the demand for more and more professionals is growing but then again this leave us confused whether the increase in the medicine students taking up MBA in health care a valid decision rather than continuing in their respective field? And what could be the reasons for such career transitions.

    Hi all! I too feel that MDS is a better option as compared to MBA but the growing popularity of management and MBA degree is catching up in this field too that people at times end up doing MBA in health or hospital admin thinking they will be paid better as compared to MDS.

    I think MBA is good but for those only who are great in managing skill and want to make their career in corporate industry, but BDS is a different domain, i think that health care management is nice option now a days but it chiefly depends on the choice n likeliness of the candidate that what sort of temperament one has.

    For a person who is BDS it is better to do MDS rather than to for for MBA in Health Management unles the person does not want to practice dentistry and/or treat patients. MDS is preferable because;
    1. It improves the option of making a career in the Education stream.
    2. It makes the Doctor more knowledgeable for treating the patients.
    3. It provides a platform to go for higher studies which can provide specialization to the Doctor in a new special field related to dental sciences.
    4. Any hospital would have only one person who is an MBA in Hospital management and that too it is not neccesary that he.she be a Doctor, but a hospital definite
