teachers of today lack basic things like an ear to hear to the students, patience to forgive, in fact there are many teachers who even lack in completing the curriculum and for this the students bear all the adverse effects.in form of results.
physical assault of children is now a routine in many private and govt schools and this results in a lot of disharmony in of the most respectable relation - teacher and student.

I think the another prob with the teachers now days is there impatience and partiality that creates big worries in terms of the student's career and some time the life too.
Also agreeing with Udit that now days students threaten their teachers and the patience is losing its toll but this has been adopted from teachers only as it does not take the latter a minute to thrash a student and to which now the retaliation seems to take a criminal stride.

In 1960's when my dad was doing his PG the quote was"dandam dasha gunam bhavat". with a danda you can kill all those 10 traits that may spoil the child. There was corporal punishment. I think to an extent yes, the teachers of today's world doesn't have patience to read a child's mentality and understand his/her weekness or strengths due to which they are not able to gel with students well.

Yes they definitely do.Specially student controlling. My father still tells me about his days back in school when no child could even look into the eyes of their teachers whereas today, students threat the teachers to drag them to court. Time is changing! big time!
