Hi Chinmoy,
To become a successful IPS officer, you would require to qualify the UPSC's exams for which the exam notification has released and one can go ahead any apply for the same.
As for the exam is concerned, it is carried out in two phases:
Preliminary test
Main and interview
Any graduate de

You need to first give and clear the UPSC prelims exam which would next be held in June 2011 and the notification for it would come in Feb 2011.
