Can anyone tell me if I am right in applying to MITID for animation course after B.E/ try next yr while taking up internship?

I am a BE Computer graduate and am looking to get into the animation industry. I will be applying to MITID (Pune) this year and if I don't make it then I will be applying to the other institutes the next year and do an internship somewhere for the time being. Am I headed in the right direction?
