Hi,
No you don't need to give the CAT to study abroad. You have to take the GMAT. It is an international standardized test that has to be taken by everyone if youw ant to study in UK/Europe/USA/Canada/ and some universities in Australia.

Dear Deepa, CAT is required for admission in IIM's or the colleges who accept CAT Scores, For admission in The Institute of Business and Management (UK). You have to take IELTS Exam with the score of 6.5. IBAM also accept TOEFL scores. Kindly let me know if you have any other query.

Not CAT, but the English related test from any one of the IELETS, GRE or TOEFL, as per the prescribed condition of the university you select.
