Yes it is the correct time to take coaching for GATE because you will improve your knowledge and also you know how the paper will come. you can how will you manage the time also.

Hi Sankar, As you are in the 2nd year of your B.tech, I would suggest you to start preparing for the M.tech entrances like GATE from the 4th year of your B.tech program. There are many good institutes in India which are offering coaching for this purpose and to know about the same you may refer to

YES. GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture or Master's degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications are eligible for admission to Master's degree programmes in Engineering /Technology /Architecture as well
