i want to do PhD in the field of planning like urban or rural development, planning wrt economic development..etc can sum1 plz tell me sum foreign (and indian) universities which provide these courses. Also, plz tell me those foreign countries where Ph.D education is not much expensive. Thanks

Dear Era,
In India, Indian Universities are recognised by AICTE/UGC/DEC. For Phd: MPhil or Masters Degree is required.
Institutes are:
1) IGNOU
2) Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University
3) Tata Institute of Social Science
4) Andhra University
5) University of Hyderabad
6) North Eastern Hill Univer

Era, I am aware of some top Universities that offer town planning with sustainable future. They are able to give scholarships but they are mainly Masters courses. I will investigate this further to see if they offer PHD courses with funding. What is your profile. Ria (ria.s@india.com)
