Graphic designing vs Web designing

People often misunderstand the two terms and use them interchangeably. What is the difference between the two and which has a better scope?

    As a simple answer I would like to tell you that I have seen more scope of web designing when compared to graphic designing.

    Although factors like job growth and salary potential are definitely important, but they shouldn't be the determining factors in your quest for the perfect career.     I think the basic difference lies on the platform they work on. Web designers work in online space while graphic designers has very less to do with the web.

    Listed below are some of differences between a graphic and a web designer :
    Graphic Designer :
    Put the art first
    Have a one-way relationship with their audience
    More artistic (i.e., sketch with a pen and paper)
    Emphasize visual theory in their designs
    Web Designer :
    See the art as a way to leverage technology
    Have a mutual interaction with their audience
    More technical (i.e., coding and programming)
    Employ an engineering approach to their designs

    Hi,
    Graphic design includes logos and print design. Graphic Design includes anything which is created and printed (or displayed as part of a layout). It includes ads, magazines, newspaper layouts, newspaper ads, billboards, logos, brochures, books, decals you find on toys, CD labels & booklets, movie posters etc. It encompasses all things in the print world.
    Whereas, web design overlaps graphic design in the graphics and overall appearance (layout) and flow of the site/pages. It also includes all the technical aspects of creating a website, such as the coding past basic layout.

    Graphic Design mainly deals with print media and web design deals with internet media. However graphic modules forms the foundation for working as web designer. We design is offered as University PG program as well as Certificate program.
