Please tell me as I come from a small town and don't have much idea about the hostel environment.

Well that would depend on the institute you plan to study, not all hostels which are inside the campus would be appreciative of your eagerness to make loud sounds. Please discuss with the concerned college and hostel staff before you take a decision. Usually, hostels outside the campuses are more liberal.
