Hello sir, my college is ugc approved. Is aicte approved btech degree necessary for government job?

    AICTE stands for ALL INDIA COUCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION. It governs the norms of technical education. Every instution( including the one you are studying) should adhere to its norms.

    Yes it is necessary for Govt jobs and even in private sector the recruiters do not give preference to candidates who graduated from institutes which are not UGC approved.

    Your college can not be UGC approved as it approves universities not colleges. Your college is affiliated to an UGC approved university. Now, in India, it works in two manner. Firstly, a technical college offering B.Tech., MBA, MCA and Pharmacy must be approved by AICTE and affiliated to an UGC approved university, which is mostly the state technical university. Second case is that a college is under a private university (open or deemed) which in tern is affiliated to UGC. In this case, college need not seek AICTE approval and can have syllabus, exam and evaluation system of the concerned open/deemed university. Amity, JP, GLA, VIT etc
