CAT score is valid only for 1 year, so you can start preparing CAT in your 3rd year of b.tech(join a coaching ). Appear in exam in your 4th year and then take admission in the same year. The good part is you are very clear about your career.

self preparation you should start from now onwards but if you want to join coaching institute it is better to join during your final year around 6 semester. keep studying English aptitude reasoning from now onwards.

    My Dear friend
You should start the preparation of CAT examination with the beginning of 5th semester and in this way you will have 1 year for preparation because you will appear in examination when you will be in 7th semester last and get admission after 8th semester
    All the Best
