Hey..I want to know what's the difference between 1n4001 and 1n4007 diodes?
Some days ago, I ordered some 1n4001 diodes and they gave me 1n4007, I put it in a regulator circuit where in the schematic it was a 1n4001, and the diode burned out. Are the two related?

As to your problem, 1N4001 has a maximum repetitive reverse voltage of 50 V, 1N4007 is 1000V. Otherwise they are the same. There must be a fault in the circuit which caused the burn-out. 1N4001
