hi i am from goa, but done my graphics,web designing and 3d max from arena multimedia - mumbai i need to know that if i start my job in UI department of IT industries and then after certain years of experience switch to studios would that be possible or will it affect my career prospects. thank you.

Gaining some work experience would be a good start for your career as this will help you develop and understand the process better. Post which you can then look in to the opportunities to work with various independent studios. Well you are definitely running on the right path.
