To give a short but clear answer, today there is no film or advertisement that gets released without VFX. India has tremendous advantages in VFX Technologies as we are a film crazy country and India is the second largest film producer in the world next only to Hollywood. Commercial success of films with tremendous vfx content like Krissh, Don, Shivaji the boss, Endhiran the robot, Ra.One, Anniyan, Magadheera etc have set new trends in VFX in our country. Some of the world famous studios have chosen India as their global production destination like Rhythm and hues (mumbai, hyd), Sony imageworks (Chennai), Primefocus (Chennai, Hyd, Mumbai).

Dear friend ,I am a vfx Compositor,Last 4 yr in this Industry ,the growth of VFX is Very good,in 2007 only vfx ,Now the another vertical of vfx is stereo conversion, now a days most of the Live action Movies converted as 3d stereo movies.Most of the Hollywood company's have started there studios in India.

Hi Kasi, Visual Effects is the process of using computers to either create or manipulate images to create effects shots. There are several components of visual effects including rotoscoping, painting, camera tracking, 3D animation and compositing. There are many studios in India that provide visual effects for Bollywood films and some of them provide visual effects for Hollywood as well. The demand for more studios is only going to increase over time as the demand for visual effects increases and India's capability for producing it improves. Visual effects professionals are paid very well. One must master both technical and artistic skills. The visual effects business has moved to mostly freelance work. In India there is more of a tendency for a company to hire permanent staff for their visual effects work.
