I suggest that you do a course in Mass communication or in Journalism. You can also approach the TV channel with your recorded voice and get their opinion.

    Hi,
In order to become a news reader in a well reputed news channel, you should have a background related to Mass Comm or Journalism. A good command over English, Hindi and the regional language. Also you should have a good personality, confidence and Camera facing. It will be advisable for you to join a good institute where you can get the necessary grooming.

Most students usually want to know which mass communication and journalism institutes aresafe to join as far as quality is concerned. Well, In journalism ACJ in Chennai, MASCOM in Kottayam, Osmania in Hyderabad and Jamia are the best. In Communication Theory and Cultural Studies, TISS is the best. UoHyd and DU are also supposed to be good. In terms of Mass Communication, Amity, Noida, SIMC, Pune, MIC, Manipal and NICO, Mangalore are good in their own but different ways. So you have choice Depends on what you are looking for.

There is not much of a process as far as my knowledge goes. All aspirants are tried and if any of them do not live up to the standards, they are replaced. But the channels do some screening beforehand and may check your appearance and fluency in the language.
